Ann Street Studio is one of my favorite photography blogs. The blog is run by a husband and wife team. She's a photographer and he makes what they've called cinemagraphs, which is basically a still photograph but with one animated part. It's very cool; go check it out. This post the was inspiration for today's painting. At one point, her neck got a bit muddy, but I think I've fixed it. I wanted the focus to be on her eyes and lips anyway. This girl's pose reminded me a bit of Vermeer's Girl with the Pearl Earring. I've always loved the simplicity of that painting.
