Just finished up the June assignment for Make Art That Sells Bootcamp. The assignment this month was for an editorial piece about digital nomads. Our "mini" was to sketch people and people using devices (iphone, laptops, headphones, etc.). I tried to get away from realism and focus more on characters.
Next was to work on an editorial piece featuring our digital nomad. My concept was this cute, traveling girl, sitting at a café doing her work. She's got all the essentials: laptop, iPhone, coffee, macarons and her sketchbook in her bag. Maybe she's blogging about all the fabulous places she's been to. They're still swirling around her head. Where do you think she is now?
Bootcamp was a really great experience for me. It gave me a taste of what it would be like to get real world assignments and hopefully gave me some portfolio pieces. I loved the creative and supportive dynamic of the facebook group, too. The gallery of all class members artwork will be live tomorrow. I'll be sure to post a link if you'd like to take a look. I've gotten sneak peaks in the facebook group, but can't wait to see all the fantastic work that will be posted!
