The Bootcamp February "Mini"

For the February Make Art That Sells Bootcamp "Mini," the assignment was plate scenics. The examples given to us were basically scenes on a plate or drawing a scene with a round form in mind. The purpose of the "mini" is to give the students a fun warm-up to get us ready for the main assignment that comes the following week. I spent some time pinning a few examples to help me get started on my sketches.

And below are some of my very initial sketches.

Little girl in a forest of giant flowers and, on the right, this sketch was actually an older sketch but I thought maybe I'd try to make it work for this assignment.

A bee theme and, on the right, it's hard to tell, but my thought was Rapunzel looking down from her tower and her braided hair swirling around. This was a very quick sketch!

And then a swan dive idea. The picture that inspired me was this one of my grandma doing a swan dive in 1940. One of my favorite pictures. :)

I'll post the assignment on Friday. :)
