We are home sweet home from our Boston getaway. The trip was not without it's hiccups but we had a great time and I really loved Boston. I'd love to go back! Three days was not enough! On our last day, we visited the Museum of Fine Arts. I really liked their special exhibits like Hippie Chic, Audubon's Birds and Rembrandt's Etchings as well as their collection in general. I'm pretty sure that place would take at least two days to go through. Here are a few pictures of my favorites from the museum.
One of Rembrandt's etchings...
Audubon's Birds were really beautiful. So delicately illustrated. And on the right is a John Singer Sargent. It was one of his most abstract and really beautiful and monochromatic. It was called Rehearsal of the Pasdeloup Orchestra at the Cirque d'Hiver.
At the end of the day we headed to Fenway for a Red Sox game. It was a great game and a great ball park. Such energy! Loved it when everyone sang Sweet Caroline (so good, so good, so good). :) Art and baseball - a pretty great day.
I am now recovering from our wonderful vacation. Why does it always feel like you need a vacation from your vacation? Happy for the holiday weekend. I am planning on doing some drawing and painting. I haven't picked up a brush in over a week! What are your plans?
