In the basic watercolor class, Katie Rogers goes over different techniques to achieve different looks for shoes: patent leather, suede and sequins. She provided sketches that we could practice the technique on. I decided to print those out and practice, just so I wouldn't get caught up in getting the sketch just right and could focus on technique. I didn't spend a lot of time on these. 

Patent Leather - This shoe has very defined highlights.


Suede - The highlights in this material are much more subtle. 


Sequins - Definitely the most fun technique of the three. You just suggest the sequins and keep in mind that there is still a highlight.
